How sick in the head would you have to be to hire paypal for a "Pro style" merchant account.

Paypal had all my credit cards locked out when my old PP account got limited and closed. I was trying for the longest time to buy stuff using my cards through PP from other people's websites but PP wouldn't let me.
I figured out that if you change some of the information on the billing page you can bypass the blocks. For example, If you change your address number, street name, city and your first and last name, as long as you have the billing zip code correct along with the CVV code and expiration date you should be able to bypass the PP blocks.
I own my own private merchant account and a couple of my sites use it, the gateway only looks at the card number, CVV, exp, and zip code for a match.

It's posts like this that make being a subscribed member of this site worthwhile! Excellent point! And remember, a LOT of merchants out there who use Paypal to process credit cards wont mention it, and will act as if they are swiping your card in a terminal, so seem more business-like, etc... Great post!

I know I'm late to the party, but thanks for sharing. I alway's use my leftover vcc's at the gas station, so thankfully I've done that right.

They definitely store info. I have used numerous cards on sites that use paypal checkout, however I never tick the box for them to save the info, but they still do.. I know this because a game I play has this checkout, anyway I just use silly names and address for the checkout as its just buying membership, and have then gone on to sign up for paypal using that card at a later stage, and they have the info I wrote in the membership form already filled out with the silly name and address I last used on that card...... even though I did not tick the box to save the info.

had a discussion with a paypal rep today who enquired why i had a paypal account in one country and a debit card issued in another country. I had a limitation and thats what he asked. They asked for online screenshots when i told them i didnt have physical statements. I told the rep their own rules prohibit screenshots and he said he still would accept. ofcourse my account was denied appeal. I used entropay but the bigger part of the picture is the mixmatched countries

If one country is USA, then not as often. |

I am just wondering how the debit card got identified...or was it during the call to the pp rep? Manual review?
