What an ass....I had someone bid on 10 of my items today. Luckily I always check bid history throughout the day. He has 0 feedback, JUST created his account today. Added to the block list, sorry not taking the chance on you guy. I would keep tabs on your bid history if possible so things like that don't happen - if you have a hunch, block bidder.

Want a laugh?
I go to antique auctions and people there see what you buy.
If they have much knowledge at all they can track down what you bought and if you list it they see it. Especially odd or rarer items.
For this reason I actually rotate my antiques and collectibles as I have a large stock of these items.
I had a younger guy ask me some questions about what I was buying and do I do ebay? I said yes. He asked, so what is your ebay handle? I told him I dont share that with anyone.
Then the discussion was that he lost his ebay account because someone at an auction kept leaving him negatives and he found it was a competitor at the auction houses using XXXX names and addresses.
He said he found out his name, looked him up in the courthouse info to get his address and went to the library and made an ebay account with this and address and listed a group of items and never shipped them. He said it did not take long he had 8 quick negatives and said no longer registered user. He went to his real ebay account and it said the same. I asked how did you find his ebay user name and of course he said he bought a certain item a while back and I looked him up and have been watching what he buys and what he gets out of things.
Funny how some kid knew enough to go to a library and find a way to stop this person from screwing him over.
What goes around comes around sometimes.

This will work if the competitor uses his real info for ebay. For a stealth account, you can not find his address via ebay user info request or courthouse.

This is an old trick, was in hackers forums also! When I use to be in there to learn things. But it works. I am sure after it happens 100s of times, eb will find a way to work with it or so.

They ask me when I got to auctions a lot. And I mean a lot.
I buy large amounts and someone always ask, you sure are buying a lot of stuff, do you sell on ebay?
Get it all the time.
Started telling people no, I sell in antique malls just to shut the nosy people up.

Oooh I see what you mean! I was thinking people online or something lol.
I would tell them. "Ebay? What's that? Oh no I don't want to pay fees and deal with customers far away and scammer." lol If that was me.
But you are right. You are keeping the competition very low. I read so many books 10 years ago on what to sell and how to find good products and so on. I remember one of them being the stuff you sell. Cause it's not easy to come about it! Like very hard you know? But since you go to a lot of them then, it's good! Bravo! |

I cannot get to all of the antique auctions I would like to go to.
I could go to at least 5 really good ones this week but will settle for 2 maybe 3.
Not enough time in a day.

It's a double edge sword when you revenge your competitors. They learn how to get back on EB again but worse they learned what you did to them and return that favor...forever!
Same goes for mentioning it here. Now many will try this for any reason they feel fit. Just nasty buyers or fanatics of good over evil will lay out anonymous destruction to your accts.

Exactly. I don't have the personality to go through with it. I lose some things and I gain some things from it. To each is own. Gotta play to your strong points

For me I have to much going on and to do to even think about doing something like this.
I dont get a lot of idiot buyers in my categories but have had my share try to think threatening a negative will get them something for free.
I just dont have the time or the heart as I know in the end they will pay for being jerks.

And so on. | When family comes to visit and we get them all year long my STEALTH ROOM goes on lock down. Can you imagine someone walking into a bedroom office with rows of computers, files hanging above them, dry erase boards, shelves of printer paper, tape, etc for a suppose stay at home Mom.
May ask too but they know I have been doing this since I was a kid and dont ask details much because they know I wont tell them anything anyway.
One sister does know my ebay name but it is my real account.
Being stealthy is rough ya know.
