No the guys ebay shows as paid..payment sent. But the transactions are not linked as i sent the payment as goods on paypal

You had paypal issues before.
Two lots of issues. An old couple reporting you to the Uni. A seller sending the item to a wrong address.

The couple who come to my uni was because i bought a laptop through a guest account on paypal. Paypal held the funds, they thought i was pulling a scam. As soon as i called paypal with them they released the funds. Hell story..and true say green bean dumbs move on my part, but now i know about guests account- never again.
That was on an account thats dead now

The seller would have provided information on this escalated case, (even if they did send the item to an incorrect address) pertaining to an EB/PP transaction, whereas you would have appeared to have conveyed information to PP in so far as to make it appear to an OFF EB transaction, right ???

Either way, them two data sets of information from you & the seller risked PP seeing the discrepancies in your 'I bought an item..sent it to the buyers asked account..he sent it to a different address'.

Let me put it this way to you.

Everything spoken of in this thread is NOT credible or believable to be frank & blunt with you. There is too many discrepancies & missing information or inaccurate being provided on this 'story'.

AND PP would have also seen through this much.

Let's recap this saga....

You tried to purchase an item worth £70 because your life was incomplete without it.

You appear to have given the seller instructions to deliver to a different address AND the seller accepted that. His condition was you pay to a different paypal address.

You agreed on the undertaking that the transaction be made as goods.

Deal went pear-shaped.

You are trying to claim with little success to date.

Is this the abridged story?

Hi No. I'll explain fully perhaps I haven't explained this well.

I bidded on a £70 item, on winning it on ebay
The seller sends me a message saying that his paypal recieval limit has been reached, can I send it to his wifes account the payment and he'll mark the transaction as complete.
I said thats fine as long as the account surname on paypal matches your surname on eBay and you deliver to my ebay & paypal matching verified address.
He agreed, I sent payment.
Nothing ever gets received.
I message him. He claims his wife mixed up the delivery and he sent it to the wrong house. The house he sent it to is still in my town.
I open a dispute >> Paypal say postage info for wrong address is sufficient.

I said to ebay i sent payment to address buyer asked it was a outside of paypal transaction/ebay because he SPECIFIED so. I told them he had said about his recieval limit, even offered to send them the messages.

He's got 3 positive feedbacks on eBay. I have a letter from Royal mail+ emailed saying he's claimed lost item and a reference number. They confirm in the letter I never received the item as its never original destination was my address (pp )
I'm thinking to maybe..well i hate to say it..go to the cops too...*embarrassed face*

I told them when I called them and in separate emails I told them I had both evidence but didn't send it them as I basically only got the letter from royal mail after ringing them and updating this thread today + about the scenario in detail yes i told them that on phone and emails. Whenever i call them they put me on hold for ages..then come back and say the new ebay rules is if a item is delivered within 1.2 miles of your address, wether or not it is to your address does not matter, as long as it's been delivered from the depot, so they aren't covering me.

Sorry to hear this mate, I too have recently had a fight with a seller over a faulty item, (i started a thread a few weeks back about it) it was favoured to the seller to which i was gobsmacked, I have since appealed the case as the reason ebay gave me contradicted what actually happened but so far I have heard nothing from the appeal and must have been well over a fortnight ago as if they have forgotten about me!!

Anyway shame what has happened and I hope you get the refund, keep trying!

Get all the evidence together from the seller telling you of his limit issues & RM telling you delivery info.

Frankly you are waffling around. Do you not know how to make a statement of the issues in writing?

Please re read my earlier post further up......how on earth would you be able to escalate this to a complaint/dispute when on your EB/PP it would show as being unpaid for ???

The item will still have shown as being UNPAID for on your EB/PP A/C (even if the seller marked it as 'complete', if this is even possible ???), with no ELECTRONIC records of any funds being received or recorded by or at the linked eB- PP end for you as a buyer.

You acting outside of EB/PP buyer protection terms with or without the sellers say so has little to no bearing on you then NOT being protected by the buyer scheme....because you acted outside of their buyer/seller protection ToS.

The risk of you rendering yourself ineligible for buyer protection is very high because you paid for an EB item to a DIFFERENT PP A/C.

This transaction account you've conveyed is beyond the 'norm' by most expectations.

Hey SUVE sorry I missed responding to that. Well I just opened a dispute on PayPal.
And as for eBay the seller can mark a payment as received.

And well all I did was follow instructions that were sent to me via eBay.
And as far as I was aware PayPal states that for an item to be validated as delivered it must show evidence of address, postcode etc.
But there now saying thats not the case.
If i had known I'd be unprotecting myself..would have never carried out the transaction.

Whats more weird is that when i call paypal they're agreeing with me, re-opening the case on appeal. Then literally 30 mins later it's closed by someone and the same decision again.

I think its time i got royal mail+ the cops involved
