Used to get these just before I left the States.

Avoided them quickly.

NY outer burroughs have the worst delivery service. Sometimes I notice that it's 2 more days from when was received in NYC to get to OB's.
Buyer should be gving you extra for bothering to deal with him. Damn yankee.

These situations are the ones where you have to do a heap of deep breathing to regain control. (urrgghhh).

UPDATE, the moron gets the item last night and I ask him to close the case and he asks, how to do this? MF'er you opened it without contacting or asking me?

Of course I don't vent to customers and I always treat them like Gods. Told buyer I was sorry if there was any inconvenience, yah de de yah da. I am dismayed that anyone would think that after 25 years of technical support experience that I would do otherwise bothers me. I just thought I would share my experience. Had a lot of interesting responses. At least it's not

It is a jackass of a buyer.

That's the bottom line.

There are certain things that need to be done in the restoration of the equlibirum of the seller.

Target practise on a pumpkin would help.

Taking a dump on hundreds of peices of paper with the ebay ID written on it would help.

Point is dispell the bad vibes from the klutz.

Go on doing as best you can.

And breathe..........

And breathe..........

I blame this on eBay's stupid changes they made recently (I think it was this last Spring update). When you go to ask a question to the seller on a purchased item, if you select the appropriate topic (like where is my item), it automatically OPENS a dispute case.

I encountered this a few times w/ some of my purchases and the only way around it was choose the "Other" category so seller would not get hit with a dispute case. The typical buyer doesn't understand the importance of cases against a seller so they wouldn't care either way.

Its like eBay is promoting the use of communicating through cases?!? I guess a new tactic to get rid of smaller sellers who have a lot of 'cases'.

Now we have an Aspkin member with above average celestial intelligence. Now that's what I'm talking about. It is just so easy even for me t make a mistake like you are talking about. A few months ago I accidently refunded a customer $160 before he returned the item because of the way the EB menu read. I really thought that the refund would happen once I received the item. PS, I never got it back. I am out the cost and shipping now.

Because, we as sellers understand how much of a pain it is to see a new case opened against you.

It becomes more annoying, when that "case" is just a simple question. In most cases I don't blame the buyer, I blame the system.

EDIT: In joesshooze's case...I do blame the buyer. That scenario is just moronic.

Here is something that will make your day a bit better. About a month or 2 ago I sold a product to one of those morons that you are dealing with right now. The listing had only one main image. It was a snap shot of the product and a ruler right next to it to show the size. A week later after the sale I got negative saying that the item is too small in size lol
So yeah mate, buckle up, it's a rough ride. Note all people as bright as you would hope

Update again. This guy is a horses ass no way around it. I find out today that he actually has not received the item he had to have and opened a case on. He received notice on Monday of attempted delivery I guess because it wouldn't fit in a box if he has one or unsafe. In Brooklyn? So, last night I ask him for + FB and today he tells me he is too busy to pick it up. Is this SOB crazy? I wrote him a real frilly note telling him I don't get paid until he picks it up and that I hope he gets it B4 it's returned. Since he already opened and closed a case can he open another for any type of reason?

Good luck.

If it makes you feel any better: I have diversified my activities and I now run a vacation bed and breakfast by the beach. I sometime run into guests who will sabotage equipment in the house to try to extort a refund, steal items, break into pool equipment to turn on services they did not pay for, etc.

Last crazy story is guests posing a 'family vacationer' but turned out to be p.orno movie makers and needed a exotic location to film. Of course they picked my place. I figured it out when reviewing the security cameras and wondering why they were naked people by the pool while others had camera equipment. Found their website and I recognized all the bedrooms and even the stairs...

90% of guests are good. I try not to spend too much time on the bad ones. Same with ebay.

Focus on the 90% and protect yourself from the 10%. That is how it goes in every business.

I would put this into the "Awesome" category of life experiences, but that's just me.

You could probably go on some websites and advertise that they can sleep in the bed that (name) got boinked on.

There's enough pervs in the world to make that a profitable ad.

I have wanted to contact buyer about shipping and it immediately asked me some funny questions like phone number to contact, ect, Once you hit submit it opens a case. There is no previous warning at all that a case will be opened.

This is what likely happened to you and this explains why customer didnt know how he opened the case.

Try it... Often any contact option that is not "other" can automatically open a case.

Its happened to me and I know the drills.

Not too go too much off topic here, but my main target audience on this property is families with young children. Not sure the 'boinked' marketing message will be efficient.

Why would you go near an idiot and ask for feedback?

Sleeping dogs should be left to sleep.....

You are catering to his idiocy

Communication is key - a customer can still CLOSE one of these automatically opened claim cases with proper talking and cajoling...

We all have had our share of idiotic buyers. Once I refunded funds for an item. And buyer says she has NOTHING in her account (as in capital letters).
I noted that it is already marked as refunded on PP and EB. And told her to check with the bank or CC as sometimes it goes back directly to them ( I meant check your online account etc)

I got a -ve FB (reason : "don't tell me to talk to my bank")
The fact that we are sellers and on this forum, says a lot that we have some IQ, but there's a lot of low level IQ out there.

I got a buyer yesterday telling me how she paid for an item 3 times and wanted the refund for the 2 additional times. I had to tell her: look lady, check your pp account - you only made 1 payment and that was eB - I dont do overrefunding, it's not part of the business. She hasn't replied back yet
