Default Different shipping locations - Buyer complaint

So, my eBay location says I'm in California on one of my bought accounts but I ship things from Georgia. Sold a wireless router for dirt cheap on Valentines day. My handling time is 1 business day.

So saturday/sunday/presidents day is excluded and the item should be shipped on Tuesday/Wednesday. I normally get the items out same day but I had a super packed weekend.

The buyer messaged me all pissed off that he bought the item specifically for fast shipping times as he's in California and that he'd get the item by tuesday/wednesday and was pissed that its just now processing in atlanta (Currently 1am wednesday).

I didn't want to come off as a smart ass and tell technicalities about business days and shipping times. I told him I'm at a friends house in Georgia and he asked me to sell a few items and *forgot* to edit location. I also mentioned that if I would've caught my error and known you needed it asap I would've shipped USPS Priority for his convenience.

What should I do? If he opens a case, he technically wouldn't win for item not received or delayed shipping time because the estimated time of arrival isn't until Saturday/Monday. But I have a high risk of negative feedback I'm suspecting. Would this possibility give a restriction for shipping something from a location not given to eBay?

Since it was a cheap item as you said, refund all or half to keep your customer happy. Seems simple enough.

Giving the customer a deal usually alleviates 90% of all online sales problems.

No good answer for this short of making something up.

I moved(from Georgia..) recently and had a lot of my accounts based there. I'm about 10 hours away now. The biggest trick is fast shipping. I get stuff out fast, always within 12 hours without exception. If they see it ships quick, they generally won't look for a few days, and when they do it is close. Occasionally when a buyer asks I just respond that I spend time between both here and there but I'm legally a GA resident an that's where the account is based.

Never had any big issues or negative feedback based on location.

Forgot to mention, for me it works out well a lot of times because the buyer is local(same town or within an hour) and gets next day delivery when they aren't expecting it. Always turns into a nice FB when that happens.

Free shipping or did he pay for the shipping? If he paid I would just credit him that and it would most likely solve your problems, if it was free shipping, I would just also explain to him about Monday being a holiday and apologize about it.

I was going to refund him if it didn't get there by Friday/Saturday. Surprisingly it was delivered in 2 days. From Georgia to California... not too normal for first class to be that fast!

Messaged him after I saw it was delivered and basically said sorry and I'm glad that USPS was very fast with their service.

No response... no feedback. I'll take it.
