Default Suspension experiment ...

OK so I have been feeling irate for the last couple of weeks as I was suspended off ebay after 15 years but left with a good genuine 15 year old paypal intact that I can't do anything with ...

Reading mixed messages from people on here saying you can use it on a stealth ebay account and others saying you can't. I did both.

Went full stealth with multiple accounts, which I am slowly maturing.

And a couple of days ago made an ebay account with a variation of my real name and address and attached my genuine paypal to it. I used a portable browser, new IP, new sim, new email.

That ebay account is now toast within 48 hours and has been linked after I purchased an inexpensive item and linked the paypal for buying.

I have RE-CREATED another account but this time I haven't linked my paypal for any buying at all and used a completely different address. Removed all links to previous ebay accs in paypals automated payments settings page. New IP, new number, new browser.

Let's see how long it takes for this one to go down ... I have nothing better to do with my genuine paypal account so if I can shift some of my stock for the next 6 months via a stealth ebay using my genuine paypal I will still be happy.

Can it be done? Yes. It is however short term and you will at most get a few months out of it usually

Sometimes a lot less and sow times a lot more. You have to be smart about it though and give them as few ways to link you as possible

Thanks for the input. That's the aim ... getting a few months use out of it at a time. I never sold VERO items and my initial ban wasn't vero related but due to a stupid policy violation (not related to selling).

I have proper stealth accounts maturing that I am taking it slow on.

But want to put my genuine paypal to use even if it is on a temporary basis. I have been through all the checks with my genuine paypals so it would be a shame to leave them dormant.

Would stealthers say it's safer to just pay ebay fees using VCC ? because when you pay using your genuine paypal ebay can see the address.

I'm not sure why people don't ALWAYS pay ebay fees with a credit card, for the cash back. If your fees are high. Otherwise, it's just peanuts I reckon...

James is right. It can be done.

I have done it for friends severally. All accounts are still alive and the oldest one has been up to 3 years and still selling really well.

What I did was strip the PayPal of all information that it could allow to change without pushing it over the brink. You can do these over 2 weeks to keep it from being flagged.

Don't use the same windows account / IP address to log in to the new eBay account.

I presume you could give yourself away if your listings use the same resources...

All eBay accounts have a unique serial number. Although I have never seen one, I suppose PayPal would have the same.

You can still get caught.
Good luck.

I believe there is a unique MERCHANT ID number ... the question is how long does it take a ebay BOT to skim all that data.

Yep it will be something like that

How long - impossible to know. They may well know it right away and choose to ignore it or it maybe that something on the account triggers them to look for a link. Only eBay would really know.

eBay have been known to ignore things in the past i.e sellers that have exceeded the 85k turnover threshold, but have created a new account and continued selling the same products.

I'm hoping they turn a blind eye to suspended users as well back on under semi-stealth accounts but following rules, fulfilling orders, paying their fees.

So far so good. Hope it lasts many years.

It's always best to reuse a PayPal account from a dead eBay store. After all setting up an eBay store doesn't really require much work whereas a PayPal account requires an online saver or card.

Best to pay for eBay fee's using the money that's left in PayPal. I've never used a VCC to pay for fee's. I leave 100 pounds in all my PayPal accounts and usually this is always enough to cover refunds etc. I have however let that money dip so low the fee's were taken out of my bank account. So far so good though

I have had loads of accounts in the past, every time i have tried no matter what way you do it they all end up linked its only a matter of time
The account which you have still running after 3 years had been linked from the very moment you added the account to ebay selling account, the reason why it's still up running is because that ebay account has a good purchase history
changing any personal info in paypal would not of made any difference
the merchant ID is unique
I am reusing a stealth paypal account from a suspended ebay account from years ago on my real ebay account which has good purchase history which i sell high volume on, I use a different paypal to purchase items,

I agree.

I think it all comes down to the original reason you were banned and how you perform after going semi-stealth. If ebay notice you are generating a lot of money for them in fees and your customers are happy and you are doing a lot to avoid a major link, they will probably let you stay on rather than running a deeper scan.

All speculation ufcourse and a fantasy lol.
