You asked for advice and I gave it to you. You do you, though! :)
1. Buying accounts are a dime a dozen, so it doesn't even matter if it gets suspended. You just make another one.
2. Most regular sellers of electronics won't even negotiate a return through messaging. "Please start a return".
3. True, for non-professionals. I guess
4. That's your prerogative. I try to minimize ALL losses.
5. There's no karma on ebay. Look out for yourself, because no one else will. | Yes I appreciate your opinion and I'm not criticising it.
1. Are buying accounts really 2 a penny? Won't my address / paypal account / credit card be blacklisted if I am banned?
2. Yes I am unsure how many sellers will be open to an amicable resolution. If they are smart they will agree as for the sake of argument even if my claim was false ebay would still force a return which they will need to pay for. At least my offer allows them to avoid return postage cost and seller defects
4. Yes I do want to minimise my losses but I also want to be fair for good karma and repeat business. A fair number of my purchases are word of mouth from happy sellers I have previously dealt with. Or a seller that gets hold of more phones and gives me "first dibs" on them.
5. Yes I know ebay can be a dog eat dog world. I get screwed over by buyers all the time but I prefer to be fair and like I said being a good buyer can get me repeat orders and more profit. |
