Default Question on how to handle returns

Hello everyone i'd firstly like to personally say thank you to everyone and especially all the forum members for supplying such useful information in order to get back up and running on eBay

I have successfully got my new eBay Stealth account up and running and started to successfully sell without any issues. The only problem I have come across is the fact that whilst selling on eBay I may get return requests from customers and that's fine as long as it's not for some stupid reason E.G. I don't like the item etc.. But how will I go about handling returns? The address I have used is not accessible to me therefore I cannot pick up the goods from the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ address, any imput is appreciated and once agian thank you aspkin community

Tell the customer that there is return address that is different for business returns.

Should inform him/her directly by messaging them from their email account and avoid using eBays messaging system?

Then you really did not set your account up so successfully if you have an address that has no access by you.

Days of making accounts with no address access are gone. Sorry but that's a fact of being stealth. You are meant to appear real. Sensibly that would mean an address that is usable.

Consider working out how to get a real address to use.

Dot risk one customer reporting you to ebay regarding address issues. Some are petty enough to do that.
Check the qulaity of your stock that returns are few

Just tell them you are away on business, do not return the item but refund there money, you should get a positive feedback as well.

Hmm I see I may just consider using a relatives address or I might just refund them without recieving the goods..Would changing the address on my eBay account raise any alarms?

i would leave the address well alone on ebay/paypal. it could raise alarm bells and you may get shut down. see what others think about it aswell though.

I have a slight feeling that it may raise alarms, I was searching through the forum and someone said if I just message the buyer through their actual e-mail (There e-mail address's are revealed once a Paypal transition has taken place unless the systems changed) then I should be in the clear since eBay won't be able to track the messages,

I thought that I'd just tell the buyer that our return address is different from the address stated because our stock and returns department is at different address's..I mean it could work if i'm lucky

Also just a quick question, is jewellery such as bracelets and pendents considered high risk items?

My slight feeling is you are going to do what you want to do.

Having contact with another party to talk about a different address is a risk.

What of a buyer who does NOT want to send a return to an unconfirmed address

Yes those items are high risk especially if they are pandora imitations or copies.

That's a category where your competitors watch.

Hmm ok thanks for your opinion GreenBean i'll think it through and then finally decide on what to do with this address issue, I never actually knew they would be high risk :O and no I wouldn't be selling any branded goods, none of the goods I will be selling on eBay will be branded, well at least until I develop some decent feedback.

You should write your real address as return on the package.

i have a personal mailbox at one of those UPS store type places. on the return address for everything i ship regardless of the account it ships from, gets that address put on it with the name as "returns."

the people that own the place i go to know me quite well, and have no problem putting the items in my box or aside if they are too big.

ebay doesnt know about the address, would link all of my accounts in about 3 seconds if it did, and all of my items get returned to ME instead of some random stranger in another state

Just be careful of 'baubles'. If the unbranded 'look' like a brand name that can get the listing flagged

Always print out a return label to where you want returns to go to and put it in all the parcels you send out so it will come back to you.

For the US guys I use stamp.com to print and pay mailing with the correct return address on the mailing label and then put the tracking number in ebay using a bar code reader ($17 ebay)
