Yes exactly. I am confused as to why it's being suggested that MP is not yet functional, unless of course, the person suggesting it hasnt signed up, and thus are annoyed at the information because they don't know it yet.

Did you see a soft credit check perchance?

Don’t patronize me, I’m not your friend.

Unless you have emails from eB or screenshots from the eB site showing your verification passed then all your claims regarding MP are useless and helpless to others.

Show us the facts.

The problem here Pathos is that your confusing your views with facts.

By all means share your views. No issue with that. Your views however are not facts. You, and the rest of the world, don’t know what will and won’t happen until users in the UK start to get to use MP so please stop telling everyone that you know for a fact this or that will happen.

Sharing your opinion = totally fine
Thinking that just because you think something makes it a fact = not ok

Cyclic debate.

Why not just cut and paste, and then move on to happier things.

Not sure really. It should be a lot more constructive. Parts of it are

I am just asking Pathos to saying things are a fact when there is no evidence to back the statements up. Getting through MP will be hard and will take adjustments but it will be possible and scaremongering really doesn't help when people are already worried.

Until we start to be able to actually use MP here in the UK (not just the application stage) on eBay then its very hard to know exactly what will and will not be possible. There are a few key aspects that right now eBay hasn't released details on (such a refunds, when it will be fully required for all UK based sellers etc).

Most of that should be answered in the next 4 weeks though and when there are actual answers that can be put into practise and tested it should go a long way to help members understand exactly what will be happening going forward.

Waqas give your real name and DOB, no point playing games with ebay now.

I am also banned on ebay (about 4 years ago now). But I transitioned my stealth account to managed payments using my real details. They do a soft 'credit' check which showed up on experian.

That's why they didn't request photo ID from me and all seems OK so far, apparenty I am ready for MP at the end of July.

And they haven't banned me either ... yet. Hopefully they won't as they can see I have been performing fine for nearly 2 years.

It's what I am planning to do as well.

Did you use a hooky adress and just genuine name and DOB?

Well the reason I joined this forum is because I was banned from ebay not paypal.

So the address provided to ebay after transitioning my account is now my REAL address, the address that was banned around 4 years ago.

So far so good. But I am also worried later this year I may suddenly get a suspension email but I would like to think if that were to happen it would have happened already especially as they have ran a soft credit check on me.

https://community.ebay.co.uk/t5/Busi...s/td-p/6651657

Reading that thread tells me ebay are getting desperate. They were expecting a high volume of people to sign up but they haven't.

Lots of big sellers with thousands of feedback are claiming they can't wait to close up shop if ebay force them on to managed payments.

What that tells me is ebay will need every previously banned seller that has been selling under stealth, performing well, adhering to their policies to STAY on the platform. So even if they see you are banned they will just turn a blind eye and let us carry on ...

Or is that wishful thinking on my part lol ?

I think its wishful thinking regarding the linking, the eBay BOTS will just sweep and destroy. I did go back in and change my banned account address and name details to random ones as probably a futile but additional precaution. Made me feel a bit better anyway lol

Sadly, I have to do the same on one of my accounts, so I am will be at similar mercy as yourself.

I think the team doing the credit checks etc are using the Ayden terminal function, so won't neccesarily be looking at the details given specifically, just the response from the Adyen system.

We can only hope really.

Did you change your name and address in the ebay account settings first or did you just put them into the MP settings, and it changed them for you, like the American way?

But f**k me, if I hear another moan about micropayments on the ebay forums. I cant believe people actually bother selling stuff with such low profit margins.

It definitely is, but I was referring to the moaners on ebay forums..

Some of those guys look to make 50p a sale....spend all day packing letters for make £30.
