I'd imagine they'd scrutinise every aspect of your account before publishing a story like this to millions. Otherwise PayPal will come back and sue the press company if they say anything derogatory that doesn't end up being true.

No they won’t.

I have been in the same situation. I recently got a CCJ against paypal..

I just wait for the CCJ to arrive as a document and then, they are screwed.

I will teach PP a good lesson by going to press or sending HCEO to their office.

Hi everyone, i have a same situation with 2 uk accounts..
Previous 5 didnt have any problem with id and proof but this 2 its a nightmare..
they were holding my funds fr more than 200 days.
I tried to chat with them via twitter and paypal message forum.
I sent them driving licence proof of address. They did not accept them and wanted new id .. i sent them passport and utilitz bill they still did not accept.
One woman sent me this reply.
What does it mean?
I have 4k there please help.

This means you need to upload documents like passport/DVLA or Birth certificate
Keep trying in spare time you might get lucky to speak with Saint at paypal

No point keep sending in more stealth docs after they have rejected the first ones. Only genuine docs will get money released as they do verify or check docs somehow if first ones fail. I know because I've been in same situation.

Had a stealth account for just under 4 years and paypal sent the dreaded email stating that the account had been limited and I was asked to provide ID. I accidentally provided the old, out of date stealth ID.. this was rejected but I'm not sure if it was because it was out of date or because paypal did a "hard check" (they didn't give me a reason) - the account remained limited.

I called paypal a day or 2 after that and they said that I can upload an ID again. At this point I'm not sure what to do. Do I try again with another stealth ID or do I just cut my losses, wait the 180 days and hope for the best?

Any advice?

Out of interest, was it stealth passport or something you used? Ive got an account with money stuck in it at the moment they are also requesting docs, but don't know what to submit.

I recently, won a court case against paypal and I have sent them the judgment more than 2 weeks ago and they did not reply yet...

PayPal sometime acts like an old school bureaucratic firm.

My funds were hold beyond 180. They were not releasing it easily. I kept calling them twice a day. It appears they have a lot of communication gap withing their department. The last call I had was with one of the senior tech. He helped me withdraw the funds.

BTW all the accounts that I use are of real people that are my friends or relatives.

Yes it was a stealth passport. Re-submitted to PP and waiting for a response. Not really hopeful and I also have funds stuck in the account

Forget the money or sue them.. not in the uk though, but in EU money claim.

I will wait to see what paypal say.. my account is still blocked so I guess the stealth ID didn't work.. as for the funds I will wait another week and see what they say

Stealth passport didn't work as I have tried it...
I called in and then an agent asked for birth certificate...

I have no idea what to do now

I send couple of time uk driving license and they pass that.2 time was ⊗⊗⊗⊗ and 1 time was real

Hi read this theard. I have some money stuff in paypal it has been over 7 months and they wont release my funds as they are asking for proof of ID however like an idiot i made it on a random name and i have no ways of sending any id to them. I did have license i sent that they refused it.what can i do to get my funds back please help herr thanks.

I’ve had many stealths and this has happened to me a lot

My advice is =

Ensure the stealth documents are up to good quality, like AAA+ 1:1 before submitting

Then when you are limited don’t pester PayPal let the money sit and just wait the 180 days, don’t submit in that time, call them once asking for a date and wait till then

Hopefully you should get an email saying your funds are available for release (after 180 days)

If not check when your last received payment was and check 180 days after that as PayPal regular call rep employees are bunch of idiots who don’t have a braincell between them all

If money is not available after this you’ve got a fight on your hands

Call in be calm but stern throw around the words lawyer & small claims court and ask to talk to a supervisor

Hopefully they’ll be merciful and give you your money

If not the account is toast forget about it and move on

Next time when submitting documents make sure you have a low amount of funds that’s not much of a loss

This info is from people all on this forum and is a summary of them and my personal experience

If no one else benefits from this at least I’ll read it again when I gotta submit docs lol ��

hi guys,
i have same problem its more then 8 months now and still paypal not releasing money.problem i have stealth paypal account.and now they blocked my account and hold money i have over 1 k in my account.
i am wondering any chance paypal will ever release my money.
any help regarding this most appriciated.

From recent experience all I can say is if youve got money thats been withheld for more than 180 days and they still dont release it , contact them through the facebook page , I got much better results that way than I did by ringing them up twice and being told twice that my money would be released within 72 hrs and it wasnt either time . The people on the phones tell you all the right things but they dont actually get things done , the people on the facebook response team did a much quicker better job for some reason .

Won the Court case and got my money plus paypal pays the lawyer fee. this was last year.
