Just sold an item for £330.00 on eBay and asked the buyer to pay via Google Checkout - he said he had some problems and asked some other methods we accept.
I told him we accept bank transfer which he was happy about and has just sent the money through.
He has just asked me to send the item another address (not his eBay one) and it is 4 hours away from his home!
I'm now a tad suspicious!
a) Can he claim a claimback from his bank?
b) How can I protect myself or prove he is lieing (if he does).
Any suggestions or thoughts?

Because they can still reverse the charge for other reasons. They could say that you sent them a brick. They could say you sent them the wrong item. They could say it arrived in a malfunctioning condition. There are many many other reasons they could claim. Those were just examples.
I'd be cautious about sending to an alternate address. There could be a valid reason (sending item as a gift). But also could be any number of bad reasons for doing so.
@meVebay, welcome to the forum. Bank transfers can be great to be paid. However even those can be subject to scammers trying to obtain monies fraudulently. Charge backs happen even in the UK. Nothing ecommerce is scammer proof
