I wonder if there is anything to the suspicion that having the lowest price is bad?
Some have opined that having the lowest price listing may draw suspicion or big seller ire against you. I think both may be valid concerns, but I believe they are only valid in certain cases:
DVD sales being one of those. Everyone knows that selling DVDs is one of the easiest way to get booted for no reason at all on Amazon. Think about it for a moment. You have a ridiculously low price on some DVD. Amazon goes by the logic that all legitimate, authorized dealers pay about the same and therefore can't afford to price them at your levels. Boom, instant suspicious of selling ⊗⊗⊗⊗. I say be the 2nd lowest price, but not the lowest one, especially with DVDs.
On another note, some may not know this, but many of Amazon's policies are actually based on manufacturer's policies. For example, Amazon won't allow most US software to be sold overseas. Why? Because the manufacturer says "can only be sold in US/Canada". This statement has no force of law behind it, but Amazon will embrace it wholeheartedly. Amazon loves big corporate sellers and hates the little guy. Sell on Amazon, but do your shopping elsewhere.
