Sounds like a professional scammer.
Did you tell the buyer that its in transit?
Did it pass the expected date?
It could show as being in transit but just not scanned/updated to show it being delivered.
Try to contact the buyer to reassure them (or frighten them) that you are on this and will pay 'personal' attention to make sure the issue is resolved.

Try to communicate with the buyer, or why not do what I do.
Refund to buyer, say I am refunding the full money to you because I know in a week you'll receive your item and that you are expecting the money back once he has his product. Seriously, why risk a negative feedback? do this only if your profit margin per item is healthy

Call USPS....find out what the heck happened to your package. I don't think your being scammed....It's 7 days past it's due date, unless USPS didn't bother to scan the package

Contact buyer and let them know that you will be in contact with USPS to find out what is going. As soon as you find out what is going on, inform the buyer. It may be that it has been lost, or that it was not scanned when delivered.

And eBay WILL find in their favor if the package is not delivered. Per eBay you are responsible for the item until it is in the hand of the buyer.
I also have seen a package make it all the way from the middle of the USA to the east coast without being scanned once! It happens. And, it could be lost, or misrouted. That DOES happen sometimes. Often, a phone call can do wonders.
But if the item is lost, you will not have much of a choice but to refund the buyer. This is why I always prefer to deal with cheaper items.

Usps gave me a case number and that is it. I gave buyer case number and of course emailed him. My question is what will ebay do with the case?

If the item is determined to be not delivered, then they will issue a refund to the buyer. For compensation you will have to talk to USPS.

Just spoke to ebay and reviewed the policy. If you enter a valid tracking number an additional 7 days is added to the dispute and if international an additional 14 days. If it is still not delivered they will refund it.

BUT - for an organization that has to process and deliver BILLIONS of pieces of mail each month, I think they really do a phenomenal job. NOT PERFECT, of course, but I have had very little go missing and very few packages not delivered on time.
I don't normally insure packages, but I will do so for more expensive items. If you are sending something that you cannot afford to lose, INSURE IT. Seriously. On Endicia, I believe it costs me $8 to insure a package for $1,000. And if what I am sending is worth $1,000 it is certainly prudent to insure it for $8, rather than face a potential loss of $1,000.

If USPS has lodged your complaint, then your money owed should come from their insurance service. Refund the buyer and work it out with postal service to avoid prolongation.

Dmshark. If you send international via first class/priority, you only get tracking within usa. After that package does not get tracked anymore.

any help would be great | what I learned, and even with my own eCommerce site when a package goes missing, is a lot of the time, the package is being held at the post office, that is why there is no final destination scan. I would call the main USPS phone number and ask for the destination post office number. Call them give them the tracking and they will search inside the post office. I found 90% of time time (at least with me) they find the package there, or inform me they left a slip for the customer and they never came to claim it.

Even if it was their fault, they wont even refund your shipping costs (adding insult to injury).

Was this international? If so I have been burned by this too. The tracking never updates once it leaves the country (unless its express) and the buyer claimed he never received anything.
