My story starts when my account was suspended the first time in November after i had it for about 5 years and was a consistant user of both buying and selling. A month later it was re-activated after numerous emails were sent and information was faxed to some bull**** company called VeRo that claimed I was selling bootleg ****.

So my account was cancelled because they said I was in violation of some stupid law and that all money owed needs to be paid immediately. So i tried to get on with another account and start selling and within 15 mins my account was suspended because of some abuse law or somethin like that.

Long story short this was my secondary income for my car payments and now ebay took that away from me and I have no other resource where you can make money as fast as ebay to make money for my car note.

People, we can bitch and complain all we want but reality of it is, is that as long as buyers keep shopping through eBay and not realizing what they have done to us, this "Nazi Regime" will remain in power. Instead of trying to get sellers off eBay we need to ween buyers from eBay to the all other alternate sources like BluJay.com or Ubid.com.

That is my new mission in life to assist in the downfall of eBay.

They just wrote me back:

Quote:
Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your removed listings.

Your listings were removed because they contained indicators that are
commonly associated with fraudulent listings.

Due to security concerns, I'm unable to share with you the specific
criteria that we used to make this decision. We keep this information
confidential, to prevent potential misuse.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Mary

$500? Thats BIG.. I have to sell 25 of my $20 items for that!!!
--Yes, imjustme, they've been using that generic for awhile,
I used to keep track of things i did to get them..
--One thing was making your listing PRIVATE, another was NO RESERVE on a high dollar item, cant remember the rest

Yeah, I only sold real authentic old Antiques on that account. Usually around $200 and an occasional $1000 item. So the average must be around $500. I ship everything FedEx and all the customers (obviously collectors with experience) were happy and that showed the items were authentic. No idea why eBay decided to pull it.

Create a website ( made by Chris for a small fee ;-]), place the address in your about me page?

Or, in your 'thankyou' email you send to your buyer, again place the link to your website..tada more sales.

Is this what you mean, or is there still other ways?

BTW gang, Chris made a website for me that I am very happy with

Default Should i sell Vero Items?

I'm not looking to get rich. I live alone and i go to college. I plan on attending medical school soon. I'm going to have to take out a ton in loans, but i doubt that cover all my living expenses unless i get super high interest rate. I'm just looking to make enough money to get by for now.

I have 3 ebay accounts, all with 10+ feedback and 1 over a month old. Now i live in new york city and have access to just about any kind of item. The only thing is, i'm not sure what sells for huge profits.

I was thinking of buying some hongkong knockoffs, but when i went there today, there was so much to choose from. So many different types of brands and accessories. I wasn't sure what to get. I cant really afford to get one of each, i barely get by as it is.

I had read a guide on ebay on how to spot knockoffs, so i was working off that list, looking for the most inconspicuous stuff. But after examining the items i thought it was hard to determine considering i know nothing about watches and handbags.

I realize theres a great risk on selling this stuff on ebay, but i dont have much of a choice, its either i get a full time job and watch my grades suffer, or I do this.

Now i'm not looking to make 10,000 a week or anything, i'm only looking to make $300-$400 to pay my credit cards and rent. So i only plan on selling maybe 2-3 items a week.

Whats in your experience is easier to sell on ebay without getting vero'd? watches? bags? sunglasses? Does quantity matter? If i included a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ receipt and a shopping bag from bloomingdales in the auction picture, would it help me avoid being VEROd?

Ethics be dammed. I'm trying to survive.

Umm, the users gave you recommendations last week about what to do. Really
the bottom line has not changed. And maybe a part time job would not damage
the grades?

quality does matter, and try not to take toooo many detailed pictures.
usually find an item, then do a search for it, then check out the ended listings and see how much the items go for. buy 1 and try to sell it. if it goes through, use the money to buy 2 more, then 3 more, then try another item, and on and on. this way you will know what kind of quality to look for and what sells and what doesent. sell 1 per account per week. but even then still theres the listing removal risk. do buy it now and have people send you offers so it doesent stay on the site too long

Default My VERO Story

I was pulled down for a VERO violation and I was suspended for a year. The rights owner through their law firm tried to shake me down for a few hundred bucks and wanted all copies of my “infringing” items. I told them that I was an attorney and that they had no proof that my items were infringing because they had no proof except from a listing photo. Needless to say, never heard back from them.

2 months have passed and I contacted VERO at vero@ebay.com that the VERO holder won’t respond because I rejected their shakedown. Now customer service, not VERO told me to apply for reinstatement. We all know what will happen, customer service will say the year suspension isn’t up.

Why bother having a VERO e-mail address that customer service responds to?

It's hard to beat VERO.

But keep reading the forums, there are work arounds.

Good luck!

Is that all you have to do to get a VERO owner off your back?

I've never had further contact from VERO owners after my account has been suspended.
