I love this one:

Hello, your download link doesn't work.
Yes it does, I just checked it.
No still not working.
Hello, are you sure, I sold 500 of these and you are the 1st one having problems.
Yes I tried alot, doesn't work. You gave me the wrong link. I did not buy zip.
Umm what?
I bought 10 tv for pc programs not zip.
Hey, that program is zipped. You just download it and unzip it.
I downloaded it now I cant open it. You better stop this crap or I'll give you a negative.
Hello, do you know what zip is? You have to unzip it.
YES I KNOW WHAT ZIP IS, I DONT NEED YOU TO TELL ME WHAT ZIP IS. THERE IS 1 FILE , WHERE IS THE OTHER 9 PROGRAMS.
They are all there, ALL 10 programs are ZIPPED in one folder. Look if you don't know how to unzip a folder, get a friend who does. I can't help you anymore.

Buyer EXPECTING ITEM ?? HUH

I had an individual which sent me an email " I have paid for an item ONE month ago and have yet to receive it SEND IT NOW". First of all WOW... There was nothing filed with PAY-PAL as a claim ? They have provided me with an item number but thats it !!...I know for sure all items that were paid for have been sent. The issue is I CANT even check if they SENT this payment b/c the E-BAY account is under suspension and the PAY-PAL account associated with that E-BAY account is No longer active !!

What do i do ???

ebayhateluv 04-24-2008 12:02 AM

HI: You can find the emails-(from your own email acct)---- Thats it, you can also check your ebay emails, but not respond within ebay..

PP should let you view History-----

ebay-sucks 04-24-2008 12:19 AM

I don't think I could beat that. IQ of -100 for your buyer??

We have all had some dumber then dirt buyers havent we?

One I remember is:

Sold the item under collectibles, it took them 14 days to pay me and on day 15 they asked me if I shipped the item. I said no you just paid me last night for it and it will probably go out tomorrow. They said you had 14 days to get it prepared to ship and you are waiting? why?
I said it took you 14 days to pay me and there are allot of buyers ahead of you that paid in the 5 days I asked to be paid in.
I shipped the next day and relisted another one I had. Didnt take long, here come a fired up email telling me I ripped them off and they want their item and it had better be taken off the listing for sale or they will contact my local authorities and file a theft charge.
You got my money I want my item!
I told them nicely that you item shipped, here is the tracking no.

They said anyone could put a tracking number in and I bet you shipped AN EMPTY BOX didnt you!

Ohh heck yes, an empty box.... dumber then dirt itself.

She got the item as I was following it and not one single email.

The second one sold buy it now and then I got an email from the 1st buyer telling me that I am a total rip off that I have more then one of these antique items and it is impossible for you to have more then one of these items.

Wanted so bad to say, Duh, how many do you want lady?

She said that she is reporting me to ebay for selling duplicate items over and over again.....

On day 89 I get a neggy from her

BUYER BEWARE SELLING DUPLICATE ITEMS AGAINST EBAY RULES

I have had them all over the years but this lady stands out because she just wouldnt stop and then left me a neggy.

jscan 04-24-2008 03:29 AM

if anyone did that to me i would have there home pranked non stop all over the night, order pizza's to there house from a payphone, order taxi's non stop, order a dumpster, dogwashing service, rat control service, pest control service, and also a stripper service.

imjustme 04-24-2008 07:05 AM

Ah yes, the good old pizza delivery. I once had a neighbor that always pissed me off. One day I ordered from 6 different pizza services to his address and watched from across the street :D

jscan 04-24-2008 08:14 AM

Whilst I agree some customers rightly deserve to be pranked. I think the only victims of your pranks however are the businesses that are called and wasted their time with bogus appointments and deliveries, they could been earning money elsewhere. Do you think that all of the above services get paid for those pranks.

You guys moan about people messing you about yet how would you like it if someone called you up in the process of business and booked or bought something from you for it to only turn out to be a dodgy call and a waste of your time, take for instant stolen credit cards how many times has it happened all that lost profit and loss of goods that could have been earned elsewhere.

Why not do the prank yourself with a bogus letter to the customers address from say the tax office or child support agency or other company asking for shed loads of money for payments in arrears.

Done it many of times to mates and colleagues and boy is it a cracker. Imagine getting a letter from the Child Support agency for a kid you never knew existed and suddenly you are being asked for 10 years of back payments. I always put one of those joke hotline numbers on the letter then at least when they call they know they've been had, but up until they've called they have gone all dizzy and almost puked....now thats heart stop pay back revenge.

Or if you want it to be a lengthy prank just a put a wanted ad in some free listing paper or website, gumtree for instance, for some sexual service or sexual partner and have their number listed. An old friend did it to me and for weeks I kept on getting dirty pervs phoning at all times of the day wanting to meet up. What was worst my mate forgot the password to delete the ad of gumtree. Had to get gumtree to remove it.

wicked 04-24-2008 10:20 AM

I deleted all the emails within my hotmail account and my P-Pal account is closed down...

ebayaintstupid 04-24-2008 10:34 AM

Why do I get the impression...

that we are getting spammed?

simplyjimbo 04-24-2008 10:51 AM

ooops i guess just wait for a dispute to be raised. or alternatively:

Firstly, Ask the buyer for their contact details including delivery address, you could even ask them to forward over a copy of the paypal receipt to aid you in tracing the order. Then check to see if you have any tracking details (which I hope you just don't bin) for items sent on or after the date of purchase which you could email them a copy or provide the consignment number

If you don't have any tracking details or proof of sending I would just tell the buyer it was sent the next day after purchase and wait for a dispute to be opened. As you probably know if you don't have tracking details Paypoo will normally grant the dispute in favour of the buyer.

which will obvious have a negative result on the closed account and Paypoo will have to release the hounds to recover the debt.

Ok

If I know I have sent an item, with or without tracking, but the buyer claims they still haven't received it I email them a non receipt of delivery form (adapted from the powersellers form). The buyer then signs and completes the form to say they haven't received the order etc, or as in many cases I have had many amazingly claim how the delivery has suddenly just turned up in todays post blah blah.

imjustme 04-24-2008 11:37 AM

If the PayPal account is closed down ...what do you care? Tell him to file a dispute with PayPal and get his money back :D

wicked 04-24-2008 12:57 PM

simplyjimbo
I think you mis-read the paypal account is no longer active it has been shut down. Therefore they cant open any claim with pay-pal....Although my concern is what can they still do ?? I would assume NOTHING ? Correct ??

simplyjimbo 04-24-2008 01:10 PM

paypal will simply reply that no refund can be given as the account is closed. End of

However the customer can still file a charge back via their credit card company for non receipt which ultimately will result in the account having a negative balance then the hounds are released.

However I believe in good business management, keeping receipts and emails etc, therefore if paypal receive the charge back and I know I had sent the item i would be prepared to contest the chargeback by providing any supporting evidence I have ie tracking details etc.

If the account is totally bogus who gives a monkey about the potential negative balance as paypal can't find you to reclaim the money,

wicked 04-24-2008 02:34 PM

How would I be able to find the tracking number for the item? I closed the paypal account and dont have the emails i deleted them all after closing the account? So say they were to file will their credit card company how can I go and find the shipping tracking info now ?? Also what if they paid from their bank and not credit card ?

GreenBean 04-24-2008 05:40 PM

Or this

Another good one is to get a subscription for one of those magazines that come in brown paper wrapping ('cpecially in the UK) and send them.:p Takes a few weeks to happen and by then the idiot has forgotten you. He gets the magazines & requests for payment. lol. Takes them an age to cnxl then. Sweet victory.:)

And yes, we did that to someone we worked with: took him months to get the magazines cncxlld. If you are a prat, you are a prat.

Thechronicles 04-24-2008 06:49 PM

Jonas 04-25-2008 12:37 AM

I'm seeing lots of listings now that at the top of the listing shout in bright colors how they don't take paypal and ebay just makes them include it in the listing. They usually take credit cards though, just not paypal.

That's good advice.
Not to long ago I had a guy email a question about an item while the auction was still active, but he NEVER placed a bid. Two weeks later the auction had long since ended, was paid for and positive feedback left, when I received a frantic "I didn't get my item, I paid for it, when are you going to ship it, here's the item number". Lucky for me I keep meticulous records and it had been a slow week and I recognized the userid. I also checked his bidding history and he had not bid on a single auction in the past thirty days. Despite his bidding history I offered him an out by asking him if he was mistaken about who he bought it from and that he was not the person listed as the winning buyer. He never responded.

I wonder how many sellers fall for these schemes because they are too busy, or don't keep good records.

FYI - despite the fact that this was an obvious - get something for nothing scam - this guy had over 200 all positive feedback.

If you think the "buyer" is legit and you want to make sure they get their item, why not ask them to log into their paypal account and copy and paste the transaction details and email it to you?

On the other hand, if you don't want to ship a second item out or think the "buyer" is a scammer, if the paypal account is closed and no bank accounts are linked to it, then it really doesn't matter much. Even if they file a dispute nothing will happen.

Lisa B 04-25-2008 10:49 AM

Buyer is trying to scam me, too! help!

Hey All

I have the same problem.

I sold some merchandise to this one Buyer (they are also a Seller w/over 700FB); after the auction ended they tell me to wrap the items carefully because the last items they received from different seller arrived damaged.

Keeping that in mind, I wrapped the items with lots of bubble wrap and stuffed plenty of paper inside the box so the items would not get damaged during transit.

After I mailed out their items I emailed them with the tracking # and mentioned I had so many I couldn’t get rid of them fast enough, well the Buyer/Seller emails me back asking me how many did I have left to sell, I never bothered responding to them.

Well lo and behold! A few days go by and the Buyer tells me they received the items damaged and were very upset and asked me if I had anymore to send them.

I apologized and all that crap, told them I didn’t have any replacements (I really do) and made a point to tell them I wrapped those items with lots of bubble wrap and stuffed paper in between and around both items to hold them in place.

Long story short, I asked them to send me pictures of the damaged items and I would issue them a refund, they emailed me on Tuesday telling me they uploaded pics of the damaged items but they never included the attachment in the email.

So far, I have emailed them 3 times (Tues, Wed, Thurs) explaining they never uploaded photos as they originally thought and to send me photos of the damaged items so that I can issue a refund.

As of today, Friday, they have yet to respond.

This buyer/seller has crappy feedback, I looked them up on toolhaus.org and was mortified when I read their feedback because THEY are accused of sending damaged goods out to people.

I think they are scamming me and trying to get additional stuff from me, they think I’m dumb and going to send them more of the same item for free while they keep the original items as well.

Should I keep emailing them for pics of the damaged items or sit and wait to see what they’re going to do?.

I think you should leave them alone and see what will happen.
Don't email them for pictures because they'll damage the item so they can show you something.
One day I sold a bed-in-bag set. 13 days later the buyer emailed me that she washed the set and after she found a hole on the comforter and she wants the money back because she received a damaged item. I emailed her back and told her I can't refund her money because she damaged the item. 2 minutes later I received an email from PayPal because she opened a dispute. She said I didn't have any return policy which I had, etc. Long story short, PayPal agreed with me and I won the case.

Jonas 04-26-2008 03:41 AM

Lisa B, didn't you insure with the post office? Make them file a claim with the post office and go to jail for a ⊗⊗⊗⊗ claim.

If PayPal was a legit company, they'd make buyers sign when they file a dispute under penalty of perjury like credit cards do.

ebayaintstupid 04-26-2008 02:16 PM

OK, here is my funny buyer story...

I had a jacket. Mens Large. Super nice and new. The pic was a tad of a shade off the original, but nothing dramatic. The original pic was more yellow, and the jacket leaned a bit more orange.

I sold two of the jackets no problems and both folks love them. Get one guy or girl, never was sure which, that bought it. Shipped next day, she/he gets it and loves it. Two day's later I get a positive feedback for an excellent product adn fast delivery.

Nice.

A week passes and I get the buyer's remorse email. I love the jacket, but I don't like the color. It isn't as light as you show in your listing. I am like, no listing picture is exact, lighting and other factors come into play, sorry. Well, I want my money back with all shipping charges in both directions.

I said I clearly state, there are no returns on clothing items once worn. And if you didn't like it, why did you say you loved it and give me a good feedback?

Her classic excuse ("I tried it on in the dark"). Really? She had days to try it on, was this the land of the midnight sun?

Straight to Paypal. Files complaint. Escalates it. Sends emails to EBAY, I am a FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD!!!

Eventually, Paypal ruled in my favor, but I still refunded her less my expenses. Shipping/handling and a base listing fee. Shoot I could have kept it all and told her to bug off, but I was nice.

She harrassed me for weeks. Even tried to ruin other auctions I held.

People on the buy side are soooo freakin petty at times.

divine422 04-26-2008 02:37 PM

why are you worrying...just move on. I have had a buyer try file a complaint after the dispute deadline. I COMPLETELY ignored them.

MOBSTER 04-26-2008 11:17 PM

any ideas to get a "buyer account" that has never purchased from you suspended? or atleast cause them a headache? since they have never purchased, i wouldnt have info to send the pizza guy, rat control etc...
see.. i have a freelance attorney harrassing me, the retards 1st sent me a cease and desist letter via certified mail, there accusations are weak, THEN they contact me through ebays message center w/ their buying account. they are giving me the biggest headache w/ their emails and demands for money.. what can i do to pay back the headache? all i have is their office #, but id love to find out the info of the account? is there a way?

GreenBean 04-26-2008 11:25 PM

mobster, I just have to say ask your Uncle Tony what to do.:) But that's because my humor is very twisted.;)

Far better for the forum to have less emotive information before you get answers. ;) I suggest you give a concise story first.:p

Jonas 04-28-2008 01:32 AM

People still taking paypal?

Lisa B 04-28-2008 11:52 AM

No, I didn't insure the item with the Post Office (bad on my part).
They have still yet to send me proof/pictures of damaged product.
I just think they are trying to pull a fast one on me by trying to get more of what I have because they got a bargain and they have asked me 3 separate times if I had additional of the same item and since I’m not giving in, I don’t think they will do anything else except file a SNAD? And if they do then I will GayPal will require them to send me the physical items back to me.

Greedy Pigs

411guru 05-02-2008 12:22 PM

buyer: Hey your programs are crap and don't work. I want a refund
me: Sure, I'm sorry you feel that way. Can you give me your purchase date, amount paid, and paypal email so I can look up your order?
buyer: 3/21, $7.95, blahblah@blah.com
me: Hello, are you sure thats correct? I can't find your order
buyer: Yea its correct, look again!
me: Hey, you didn't get this from me, I don't have a record that you ever got it from me.
buyer: Oh lol. Sorry man I didn't, I got it from another guy lol.
me: No problem dumbass.

MOBSTER 05-03-2008 03:17 AM

ah ah! i had one of those idiots.. want to know the status of their package.. they emailed me direct not from a ebay user ID.. so heres the email

whats the status on my package?
me: what did you buy and whats your user id
her: my email is bla bla and i bought bla bla
me: i cant find your email.. can i have your ebay user id
her: my name is bla bla (does not give me an ebay name)
me: i dont have record of you
she then files a "did not recieve" notice with paypal and says, THIS IS PROOF
... well, she was emailing from a different email, the ebay name was in her husbands name, husband email etc.. therefore, i would have no record of the info she gave me..
why on earth do they make you pull teeth.. then the retard files a not recieved with paypal and funny/stupid thing is, is the report provided her with the tracking... dumbass!
tracking was on her paypal payment the whole time!
shees!
