I'm just finding it strange that PP is still keeping the error.
It's been 3 months now. and they're not willing to remove the option and in the same time, they're not willing to fix it.

Few of us wait - I havent had interested on creating a new Canadian PP recently but I will bite the bullet - enough trouble rotating accounts on dial-up and building them for now

for new paypal accounts, about after 10 days, you will be able to add a bank account by phone verification.

Anyone else having an issue adding a US VBA to a Canadian PayPal acc?
 

Been trying to add a Bank of America Checking account to my account for the past few days and it keeps telling me it cannot add it at this time, I heard if I call it PayPal could allow it to be added, can anyone confirm that?

Been happening for a long time.

Not always successful to even get added manually.

Try calling in for a manual add but wait a few weeks after account creation

I never called Paypal. Just try more time. So far I added 4 VBA. All new accounts.

Is the phone number in your account that is No change when you create your paypal account?

Hi there,

I bought a US VBA on here a couple days ago and for some reason, I can't seem to able to add it to my Canadian Paypal.

Is this a normal occurrence or is this something new with Paypal?

Issues were first reported a few months back.

I cant recall reading any posts to say the situation had improved.

To those out there who are facing a similar issue, simply ring Paypal up and have them manually add your VBA to your Paypal account. Apparently, it's a common "online issue" they've been having for some time.

It happened with me when I tried to use metabank with pay-pal did not work.. looks like it's a hit and miss game with this one.

Tried calling again today and none of the representatives could add my US VBA to my Paypal. They kept feeding me the same bs of how it's impossible to add a US bank account to a Canadian Paypal. This is new. Usually, it takes only a call to get this sorted out. Going to try and call again tomorrow. Wish me luck.

If anyone's found a solution to this, please let me know.

Guys, so what is a situation with it right now ? Can we add VBA or real us accounts to CA pp ? And what's the procedure - do we need go through phone verification with automatic system or do we call to rep and answer formal questions?

The procedure is still the same as what has been talked about in this thread for the past year. If you are able to complete the automated phone verification, then you're able to add the VBA.

i have been using payoneer to withdraw, your paypal account might have been flagged, call them, i think your problem would be solved

Definitely with right ID :) and vice versa (Can to USA)...I have friends from US who have come up and do it easily.

But be aware though, any account opening or closing requires you to be physically present at a local branch. You can't do anything over the internet or phone.

Same message, I had yesterday! Canadian PP act, with a U.S. Bank of america, but its from payoneer!! I guess that they know thats a payoneer acct or red flag, because of Canadian acct with a a U.S. VBA... I did confirm a vcc...

I've failed adding US VBA - GMAC BANK on Canadian pp yesterday ;)

So is the consensus to avoid VBA for Canadian PP altogether? A few sellers in the marketplace who were offering Canadian PP compatible VBA's only offer USA accounts in their posts. Would it be best just to stick to "real" bank accounts like Wells Fargo for example?

I also prefer real accounts. I experiment all the time but it would be good for the relatively new posters to try it out and report back for an update...if he/she wants the quick solution to the question

Well I tried adding a Wells Fargo savings account with no luck. Called up paypal and the representative told me adding a US bank account to a Canadian paypal account is NOT ALLOWED. The stealth guide should be updated to reflect this.

does this mean as canadian, we cannot add RBC USD account (opened in Canada) using routing # 026004093?
