Pacific Mall is crazy. I have a relative that lives in ON and you can buy burned DVDs of movies that are not even released yet 5 for like $20 and so on.
As for opening a bank account, yes you can. I know people who have accounts at BOA, Key Bank etc opening them up in person down in the states.

As more and more competition comes in, the prices get lower. I went there last month and the price for five burned dvd's were $10...

It's not as easy to get a sin card, trust me. It's like USA, it's hard for other people to get a SSN card. Don't waste your time trying to get a sin card....

the only bank in the US that lets you open a account without ss# is Wells Fargo Bank all you need is a bill that shows where you live in the US under your name and a id with your name don't matter where is from

Getting a SIN card takes a lot of time - permanent residency etc because the SIN gives you the power to WORK. Hence, you can imagine why it's so stringent.
That being said, you don't need to open bank accounts - you need valid ID. People from States open up accounts all the time but you do have to do it physically - whether internet or not, you will have to submit proof - most banks have you come to sign docs in person. A lot of State students study up here so they open and operate accounts. Hate the regs or not, I have to respect our Canadian banks $ - solid solid
Agree with Burning, move this thread out.

Agree with Burning, move this thread out. | Yes, I completely agree with you. The reason why where not in the same situation as in the USA is due to out strict banking laws. Don't mess around with the Canadian system, the banks will report you to the CRA (Canadian revenue agency) if you receive large amounts of money. Trust me, don't mess around or you will regret it. The banks are not stupid, any suspicious payments received will be scrutinized and it will be sent to the CRA for review.
Many people think it's easy opening a Canadian bank account but it's NOT! The process is very long and tedious. I don't know why many people want a Canadian bank account anyways, paypal gives the option to add a USA bank account for Canadian users. I myself have a USA bank account added to my Canadian paypal in order to avoid conversion fees. PLEASE - MOVE THIS THREAD TO THE EXECUTIVE OR SUBSCRIBED AREA!
I had to make it big and bold (that's what she said...haha) in order to catch GB or Apskin's attention.

Woot. Aspkin moves this thread to the subscriber area. Now, who thinks this should be moved to the executive section?
I would have been more open if this was the executive section!

What executive section? I'm an executive! I've heard no such thing of this "executive section". You mean the "subscriber's area"?

On the forum there will be a section called the executive section. It seems that you have a executive vip status and you can now view that part of that forum.
