He currently has 105 listings that are all over £50. He has not been asked for photo id at all and there are no limits on his account.
when you sell second hand stuffs, they are less risk than the new ones. So it's easy to understand.

Try to deliver ontime, treat buyer very well and your limit will be gone after 90 days

I just created a new stealth account and I got an instant limit upon creating the account for $1,000/10 items per month.

That is an awesome limit... for 2009 or 2010.

Seems rather pointless to have it in 2011 when they're going to nail you for SSN after $19k.

My latest has a 10/2000 and the one before has 10/500 The one with 10/2000 I started higher priced items and the 10/500 listed cheaper items....

I have a question. If attempting to lift limits using questionnaire, does anyone know what happens if you answer incorrect? Is it no harm no foul or are you now on the radar?

The questionnaire goes away as an option for about 2 weeks. I recently passed mine on the 5th try.

Everyone who has their limits lifted, what do you sell, and whats your average earnings? Im beginning to think more and more has to do with the sales than fbs..all my 5 accounts has been 90+ days w around $100 each account and none has been lifted yet. And ive called for 1 account. He says im not making enough up to $500 is the problem. He lifted one account to 20 items..im not about to ask the other ones

You need to force limits in order to show you need to have more limit. After you can call them to explain your situation. I had an account with 20 item limits and when reached 20 have called them for lifting and done.

I heard limits automatically raise from 500/10 items a month ) if you link your paypal directly to your eBay account to collect it's fees. At least this is what some people are reporting

Hi

it depends greatly on what you are selling i think.

i very recently opened a new eb & pp verified seller acc someone before i was punished by eb and even heard about stealth.
The eb acc allowed me initially 100 items p/m - but i didnt know about the ebook rule and listed one - so they limited this account to 10 p/m for 3 months.

If that's the case, then it would be worth it, for us all to figure out what we should sell, on a new account, to avoid such limits, and then gradually slide in our desired items.

BTW, I'm over 90 days on a new legit account, and it still has a 10 item limit. I'm in the Lumber category....how on earth that can be high risk, is beyond me.

it's going to be trial and error - thats why the filling spreadsheets with all activities will help in the long run.

Brand name clothing - not just high-end, chain stores too like Top Shop & River Island I think, branded shoes, bags etc.
High-end cosmetics & branded fragrances.
ebooks that are incorrectly placed - ie inserted into the wrong category.
Software, electronics, phones etc
expensive items - that may cost pp money.
Jewellery of course - don't know about costume jewellery.

There must be many many more.

Lumber category?? What is the average cost of the items? If it's over God knows?... £50 maybe - perhaps pp would rather err on the side of caution.

I'm sure it's about how you present. If when you sign up they look at you and can see you've been in business a long time and you are just adding EB as another string to your bow they have no need to place limits.

If you are a new account with nothing on public record they will put the knowledge they get from reading forums such as this with what they know from their trends and place a limit.

IMO they know a lot more about stealth than we give them credit for and there is probably some little spotty faced nerd sitting in a windowless office that smells of BO and rotten feet that spends his whole day thinking up ways to frustrate us.

For anyone who still has limits after the 90 day and you believe they should be rasied, contact eBay and they can raise them.

^ Phoning PayPal and eBay sorts out so much so quick. Always better than an email imo. Just use different unlinked phone numbers to phone from. That is what I do anyway.
