What's it mean when you get 0/0 but no MC999 was issued? This new account sold an item successfully and got positive feedback from it. Second item listed, auto 0/0. Seems like this differs from the traditional MC999.

Might mean that it took their system a bit longer to link your account to a suspended user or something fishy on your account details.

Made a phone call. The rep said that the account was limited because the item I tried to list "couldn't be verified." Seems like a whole sort of reasons for this 'shoot first, aim later' method ebay's got going.

I was prepared to answer some q's about the weather in my area, where I lived, etc. but was just asked what I'm selling, intend to sell, quantity per month.

Answered those just fine and got the limit bumped up to 10/1000. :sleepy:

Just wanted to add, never gotten a 0/0 before. Last night I tried google voice for the first time and an auto 0/0. Ive always used a tracfone up until that point. Just some information if anyone was interested.

I know it's gone a bit off topic, but when you guys create the accounts, do you try to list something right away? The ones that I activate right now are a few months old already, and so far the cheap phone services have not been giving me problems.

That could very well be the problem. I usually wait 30 days or more, but recently, someone on here hinted that if your account is less than 90 days old and you try to list something, they would put category restrictions. So far I have not had this problem with my aged accounts.

Dmshark, who's a pro at this, said he's Benin getting the 0/0 too, but he also seemed to imply they he tried listing right away too. So, yea, it seems like you can get away with a lot more if your accounts were just sitting there, for example, the cheaply phone services.

I had an account that was sitting for 2 months, went to make it a sellers account followed the stealth guidelines and got 0/0 limits

This is usually a combination of abused cell phone tethering ip ranges and also google voice i would assume. I haven't created accounts in 4 months.But i see it's getting more difficult. I'll have to turn up some new accounts in the coming weeks for the holidays. I still have an account or two stuck at 10 items for 5 months now. It seems random on the bumps. Most others auto increased. I know when i use my cable modem to create accounts.It's less likely to be 0/0'd. But who knows...

Dont know if this might help anyone but made a account last night for the heck with Text+ listed right after and of course BAM MC99

Well this morning called it in playing the newb, was told the reason why they did that was because my Paypal was not FULLY verified meaning i did not link the bank account yet (Had only added credit card with limits lifted) Was told once that gets done i will be reinstated.

So maybe that tied with the phone app might be causing the problems??

Just something to think and ponder on this beautiful Sunday afternoon, got the oldies on the radio and a cold one in the hand....Oh Oh better not make any more accounts for the day. LOL Have a good one peace out

Within last week I created 5 accounts. Right now switched them to seller's accounts. Fully pp verified and confirmed (link after verifying). From these 5 accounts I got following:
1) 0/0 -right after I put sim in phone, I got text message from person about chilling in NYC. So probably this number was used before with ebay.
2) 10/1000 - no problems
3) 0/0
4) 10/1000 - np
5) 10/1000 - np

2/5 gave me 0/0

So basicly we moving towards the point where we get out of phone numbers which never been used for ebay. All accounts were stealths and had vanilla gift cards and t-mobile sim cards. Used dongle, tracking IPs.
Most likely they link it by previously used phone number.

Another question! If I plan to build up accounts with EIN attached later on, is this a good idea to call about 0/0, or should I just throw away these accts. If I call, won't I have flag/problems in future? At this point there's nothing really for them to verify. What's your opinion on this

Never call, even with ein. They're going to ask for your information, public records etc. once you can't answer, your account is gone most likely

Later, of course I wouldn't call. But now - it's either 10/1000 or waste - nothing to lose. The only problem - if this call will affect account in future or not.

Does these 0/0 change to 10/1000 over time or not ?

I'm watching a few of my 0/0 accounts to see if they do change. Been well over a month and nothing has happened. It will be interesting once they hit the magical 90 mark to see if anything changes. Might as well stash them for now since they aren't worth anything.

Called in two of my 0/0 they couldn't find the info so gave me limits for 100/5000 and 25/1250

Wow, that is weird, and cool at the same time. When I was asked public record info, they never gave me the account. They suspended it right after I hung up. Looks like Ebay is changing a bit.

i haven't gotten 0/0 message yet, im about to open an account now so we'll see. If I do get it did I just waste $10 on a tracfone as the phone # can't be used again?

Over here they are on sale for 5 bucks and comes with minutes. Been driving all over town buying them up. Cashiers starting to look at me like im a drug dealer or something. LOL

I don't know, lately my methods have been hit and miss as well. I wonder if they had system updates or something.

I noticed some accounts would have 0/0 and others would have 10/1000.

Then i would get mc999 with msg saying 48 hours ( I have gotten better at answering those questions). However, after passing, those accounts were suspended. Seems like Friday things went downhill for me.

When do you start selling? Some of my accounts have been created months ago, getting ready to activate now. So far so good.

I'm not getting as many 0/0 limit accounts anymore, but I have tried twice to see what would happen and called

Once they asked for ID

And the other time I received 25/1200 limits when they couldn't find info in public records

So I take it you guys use your Tracfone phone # when you register for both ebay and paypal?

I'm trying to figure out if its safe to make an account before I have a Tracfone number. Is it safe to go back and update the phone number once I purchase the tracfone?

I always make sure everything is in place ahead of time just in case. Keeps me from losing mind as to which stage which account is in as it is beaing created.

No not on paypal. Make sure you register a working phone when creating paypal worth the 10 bucks IMO don't make up one then try to change it you will run into problems later with the account security features.

just a quick update: i went 4/4 with successful account creation today, quite a few other accounts successfully made since this problem began.
