HI- ANyone noticed if you have say 7 aol acct names (max allowed)- per Master Screen Name, that when you log on as guest, then place your new aol name, you get a dif ip address, but if you have say 3-4 users names, you still get only the 2-3 diff ip address through aol? I do not get a diff one for all user names,
I am using comcast cable via aol, the in another room verizon dsl line , both with routers, Thanks.. |

wouldnt it just be easier to switch between cable and dsl whenever you get suspended ? I just got suspended and would like to hear from people who have used this free info to create a new ebay account successfuly. I am ready to order dsl and follow all the instructions on opening a new ebay sellers account with a gift card. |

It doesn't make sense really. It takes time and money to do the switch... and like Modee says, what happens when you get suspended again?
Can you not change your Ip address?

I found it has harder to change my DSL (SBC) then my Cable (Time Warner).
Using a router with it only complicates things... I got tired of all of that and just bought to subscriptions to a second cable modem... one for my router and one for my main comp to easily change the ip without the router. It's been working great ever since. Though I pay an extra $30 a month for this luxury. :(

Two subscriptions which makes two different IPs sharing the same bandwidth. It works well.

Activity: 6% Longevity: 99% | | Which nic card works for mac ip
Im trying to find a nic card that will allow me to change my mac address to get a new ip everytime. Since mine is static. I use comcast and they wont allow me to change it unless I file some harassment online everytime i want to change it.
Thanks in advance.
Also I use linksys for now, but it only allows me to change the last 2 digits of my ip. Sometimes I end up with new ones and then used ones. Like XX XX XX XX FF A1

Lol, nooooooo the mac address for your ip. Not the operating system. On nic cards you can change the mac address on them. And up with a different ip...

Activity: 0% Longevity: 96% | | Need help changing IP Address...Please
I really need some help...
I have 2 computers.
My desktop has aol dial-up, my laptop has a wireless usb adapter, so I am using someone elses internet (sorry, I'm broke).
I am so confused with this IP stuff, I have spent the last 3 hours searching and reading plus I have printed out 29 pages from this forum and I still am clueless how to mask my IP address.
Somewhere on this forum I read that AOL is giving information to Ebay, so I guess I can't use my desktop, right?
But, I can't figure out how to change my Ip on my laptop. I have unplugged/powered off everything, no luck.
Please help!!!!

I am not sure what my ISP is. I just log onto the msn icon off of internet explorer when I get on the computer???
I just downloaded AOL to my laptop, because I've been reading feeballing's post.
My IP has changed, however, I am running into another road block...the same IP is appears everytime I log in.

Activity: 0% Longevity: 96% | | Something weird is going on....
I am going CRAZY over here...
I just logged into my laptop with wireless connection, looked at my IP address, then just happened to look at the IP address on my desk top with dial up connection (both through AOL, different screen names but both created under the same account) and the IP address is the same!!!
How can that be?
Please help!!

don't panic, penny
just download the AOL all in one software, and install it on your computer (i think the latest is AOL VR9.0)
when finished install, start the program, and sign on as a GUEST.. (you will need a aol screenname first, but you can get one for free with AOL webmail which is now free)
once signed on, open a browser window in AOL (using the built in AOL browser).. and check your IP address again. every time you open a new browser window in AOL, your IP will be different.
however, that being said, you must use AOL's built in browser, in order to get the different AOL addresses each time. Contrary to what some ppl are saying, I find that even when signed onto AOL, your IP will not change if you use other browsers outside of the AOL software suit, such as IE or FF.
good luck!

I asked that qeustion earlier (maybe, I thought I did), but I was told not that it is safe to proceed through AOL.
But, if you are saying that they are connected, then what should I do?
Thanks!!

Activity: 0% Longevity: 96% | | Why is this so hard????
Oh no,
I am about to pull my hair out...
I have a new problem to add to all of my other problems...I have been working on changing my IP for 10 of the last 18 hours and I have gotten absolutely nowhere on either of my computers...why is this so easy for other people? what am I doing wrong?
My new problem is that I am trying to track my IP address. As posted above, I am getting the same IP address (through what's my ip address) from both my laptop and my desk top, both using AOL. I don't understand that one at all. I thought IP addresses were unique, so how can 2 computers have the same address?
Then, when I try to check my IP address on 5 different IP address check websites, each of the 5 different websites give me 5 different IP addresses (the last 3 numbers vary) all during the same session? Huh??? How is that possible? How do I know which one is the correct one?
Please Help...I can not afford to be off of ebay much longer...honestly I am past that point, I must get back on now.
Thanks in Advance!!
