I do have a small and very positive update (I left one of my accounts with the "bug"), but unfortunately I can't post it here since paypal might fix it.

I guess once it "hits" everyone, you will also find out soon...

Let's just say even tho the account is unverified and no bank is attached, the money can still be used!

I apologize for being so vague, but it is good news!

As usual you are straight out and correct. This is why I always use you for my accounts. Methodical and careful planning gives buyers such as myself accounts that last. KUDOS!

And to counter what you said - The SSN and DOB can easily be bought online. Using said SSN and DOB and any number of public database companies that provide their services for $9.95 per month one can find pretty much all the info necessary to pass said verification questions. A bank statement can easily be photoshoped. The prostate exam will need a special template - Im sure one can be arranged.

Point is - where there is will there is a way and if nefarious elements want to avail themselves of paypal's services they will be able to do so no matter what security measures/obstacles are placed in their way.
Im not in denial. I just dont see the point in wasting all this time on something that we simply dont know enough about. When this feature rolls out and we actually know what we're dealing with ill get to work on a solution. Right now youre working on a solution to a question that has way too many variables and not enough data.

Lol, just lucky I guess but I DID read the Stealth Book, my "stupid" post came only AFTER 5 paypal accts were limited for no apparent reason and my attempt to save 3 1000/34,000 accts and by the way 2 of them have been operating with newly attached paypal for close to a month and have generated $4000 net profit of which $3600 has been transferred to my bank acoount. Another month like that and I think attaching new paypal to them was worth it, EVEN you should agree with that.

Not if u pay with a stealth and sell on a different account. I have used a stealth to pay for a digital order before.

I hope paypal is not going to ask for docts if you do not show up on the public database . It could ether mean that or you need a bank account attached(hopefully, we can just use a vba then)

They have been trying NOT to be a merchants agent. Sounds like the government is making them or changed the definition. If that is the case, SS will be required, Just like amazon, sooner than before.

It's the same thing as before, now just making it so you can't shift money around without providing details. You can withdraw your funds...or provide a business tax id if your ssn is burned to do this.

It shouldn't be a huge deal to withdraw the funds and use your bank debit card to pay for stuff as you can do instant transfers. They are simply following the 2017 update to transmitter laws and acting more like a merchant processor.

And yes I know this messes with people who use US accounts, but for anyone who can get a tax id you should be good to go.

2. Those cashing out by shifting money to other paypals with banks attached
3. Those cashing out by buying BTC
4. Non US citizens/residents operating US accounts remotely

That being said, Vanilla visas for every ebay account to pay fees are going to be a royal pain in the ass.

Would you be able to pay fees direct from a linked bank without revealing the real bank account details to paypal?

Too early to tell who's gonna be screwed. I think it's going to impact more than just shady stealthers.

More and more people are posting about having to send docs just to add a bank account. Could be a sign of what's to come.

This is all about the Gov wanting all PP money taxed. They add these sneaky regulations in with some other bill packages never to be seen until it's too late. Unverified accts 'pump/dump' or whomever paying for almost everything under the radar on non-taxes income. Getting around the 200/20,000 rule completely.

But if you have to start verifying your identity before you can add a bank account, the traditional method of buying a stealth account and later upgrading to business will be a lot harder if not impossible.

I've been banking on my LLC/CA accounts surviving this update. Let's hope that's the case.

If the quote I mention is correct, having a bank acct will do it. You just can't send/receive probably or buy. So multi sellers and multi owners of PP accts have to have many bank accts which puts a red flag on sellers and and many multi users of PP....maybe but highly unlikely.
The EIN# is what PP/Gov is wanting. You have to look at what they want...MONEY! notice this is only for US PP owners. They have a hard time taxing the Chinese sellers etc....

I was reading that the list of eligible banks and credit cards is going to get pretty small. I know I cant add local banks and credit union debit cards.

Perhaps they're going to ditch micro deposits for verification. Micro deposits have always been the weakest form of verification according to some site I was reading a while back.
