Default Buyer claims he received empty box....

"I received my package today, but EMPTY !! There is a stamp there from the post office main office from San Bernardino, CA that is stamped with the date they received it . I can send you a picture via e-mail if you need proof that I am not lying. So if you can give me a full refund or send me another one or did you have insurance on the item....please reply ASAP. I ordered this from you seeing you have great reviews and say 100% guarantee. I'd hate to take this further legally. Thank you very much. I will be waiting for your reply . "

Actually really pisses me off... I his payment was $26 total, I know its not a big amount by hey why not politly scare him?

Should I reply something like,

hey I'm really sorry for this, actually all are products are insured via 3rd party insurance, but always require a incident report from police. Though this is very unlikely, anyways I have forward this up to my dad you investigates mail fraud due to shipping company, Is this the correct informations? " <<Buyer info here>>> where u can be reached ? You will most likely be contacted by San Bernardino officer XXXXXX , I've worked with him a while back so I'm pretty sure he will handle this case.

Please reply to this message in 24hours if theres any change or you will like to cancel this claim and investigate yourself with usps

Good idea or bad idea?

Save your battles for the higher priced items you sell.

Call your customer and have a friendly chat, feel him/her out their sincerity.

Sometimes things really do happen during shipping.

well yea sometimes things do happen but hey its a new account i made so maybe take a chance? sure i may lose a account (highly unlikely for 1 dispute to do that) but at least I will know how to face it in the future,

I do sell high end items with 1-2K priced tags but if i get some experience from this $25 item it should be helpful right?

Honestly It doesn't matter 2 me, il just wait 12 hours, read all these reviews and go with what side majority of comments say.

Refund or threaten politely.

I mean whats the worse that can happen? for empty box he need a valid police report, without that ebay or paypal won't assist him..

say he leave a negative, il just offer him a full refund +$5 extra...

dont u think thats better, risk is neg feedback (i don't think he's gonna do a police report for $25 even if he's telling truth, reward = Experience + money?

ff you plan on selling 1-2k items on this account, you cannot let the $26 case hurt you. Do whatever it takes to avoid neg feedback.

Spare me from this manner of handling a buyer's complaint.

It's not appropriate to even think of making threats like you want.

Best to leave these for pricey items, not worth it under 25$.

I'd contact USPS. Ensure they contact the buyers mail carrier -and- take steps to follow thru with having this investigated for mail fraud.

All you have to do is take the empty package, look at the postal strip, find the weight and that will prove nothing was inside it. If the box weighs 5 oz and the postage reflects 5 oz, you can prove there was nothing inside. I have to agree with the forum. It is not worth it. They will give you a low DSR in addition to negative feedback which eventually suspends you.

Do you have any mailing receipts with the measured weight on it?

File a mail fraud report to cover yourself, if he's done this before it'll show up quick and they'll really come down on him, it's also a record if he tried to do it to anyone else.

I understand things happen but I've read messages like that before, it just has the feel of a scammer. It's really easy to file a mail fraud report with USPS, do it online it takes 2 minutes.
