I have a huge spreadsheet with every IP address I've ever used for a year on my ISP. If ebay is keeping track, I should too.

A few times I did get the same one!

I NEED HELP!!Please , on this one..Sorry if this is a very basic question!!!!!! this IP address is very confusing for a non comp person like me! Have been playing around with changing my IP address and each time I check once I have turned off the system, the last three digits change (the last time I checked after turning it off, the last 3 digits became 2 only)
The first digits i.e 61.6.***.always stay the same.
Is this typical of how an IP address changes and good enough to be another user for Ebay?
Any help would be very appreciated
Cheers
Fran

Seems that I always get an IP in a country where I don't even think they have computers:D

Is there anyway that we can figure out what location that the IP it gives you is supposed to originate from? It'd be really cool if it kept it close to your real one...geographically.

The one it put up was pretty close to the one that I am using for real at my office (starts with the same digit, similar number of digits)

I'm just wondering because if I sign up at EB with an IP in FL and use a MI address to register at EB and PP and the next time login from Sri Lanka I think those accts will get shut down real fast.

Any comments from anyone who is using this service and how they make it work?

Het thanks!!! You can disregard that portion of the PM I just sent you.:o

I just checked it with the Privax and it only says that I am in the US. Will that in and of itself red flag EB?

No problem . And I don't assume so. Why would it raise a red flag lol?

lol. I'm trying to stick with U.S. based IPs. We should be fine then. I just created an account yestarday in fact, but I need a method that'll let me add my credit card through the ⊗⊗⊗⊗ IP. So if you use those proxy websites, you'll be able to register an account but not necessarily add your credit card, at least I can't lol. And this IP address (from my router) expires on Saturday, lol I am very impatient! I wanna list today! But so far, as to working buying ebay accounts, I have about 4 in reserve.

You mean buying ebay accounts or setting up accounts for buying?

I just bought my first item for $4 today on a two-week old account. Am going to do a little here and there with all of the accounts (just buying) until they have been around and then just keep them in line to pull out for when the one in front of them gets banned.

yea that's the basic idea. I mean setting up ebay accounts for buying. If one goes down, another one is ready to take it's place in an instant.

Other than non-pay, why would you have one go down for buying unless it was "associated" with a banned one?

No I mean if the two that I use for selling go down, then I just use the buying ones that are in reserve to pick up the slack and sell. Get it? In theory it should work lol. Unless I get one of those "overnight ban fests" ebay seems to have been giving out.

Default Is it only the last set of digits in an IP address that change?

Advise needed please!
I asked this question in the changing IP address thread but no one replied to me!
I know its probably a very basic question but Ive trolled thru all the postings and no info regarding this is in there.
I live in South East Asia....Just want to know if its only the last set digits that change for each new Ip address? If I switch off everything and check the IP address, the only changes are to those last digits which change. After playing around with it yesterday I got 172, then 148 then 159 then last night ,49.
Is this enough of a change to the IP address as to be Ok to start up a new Ebay account please?
Also, if my Ip address always changes when I switch off my system and then use Ebay with my new username but logging in with different IP addresses now and again, how do they see this? Would this wave red flags or not?
Really appreciate any help here as Im ready to go but just need some reassurance that this IP change is all OK!
Thanks,Fran
